  • Nancy (Adamson) Roush Lyford:

I wish to add information to the 5th Roush book. Who do I contact?

  • Cheryl Banks:

I am sorry to hear of the death of Walden Roush. In 1999, he sent me some information regarding the organization and from it I was able to locate this website.

It is reputed that one of the Great-great-grandmothers was a Rausch, but I it has never seemed as if you have this woman. Her name was Elizabeth Betsy Rausch and was married to John Jacob Deeds. According to the 1850 Census, they both were born in Pennsylvania circa 1800. They are quite well documented from that point on being buried in the same Township of Mercer County, IL as they lived: New Boston cemetery. They are on and their headstone is being eaten by fungus. It is practically illegible. Their four children are documented in the 1860, 1870, 1880 Federal Census. This couple died in the decade of 1890 so 1880 was their last census. The boys continue to at least 1900, possibly 1910, I don’t remember right now.

Their youngest, Susan Deeds Poland, is buried along side her husband Joseph Poland, in the Mannon cemetery, Mercer County, IL. Their oldest child, John and his wife Christina Flexler Deeds are buried there as well. The middle two sons, George & William and their wives, are buried in Iowa.

  • I would like to notify you that my dear Aunt Rose Clara Dreher Drake passed away on January 23, 2012. She is buried in Santa Monica, CA. She was born in Friend, Nebraska on August 14, 1915. She was the last child of Homer and Ida Dreher who lived in Iola, KS. She was 96 years old.

  • Mark Keyser:

I have the Roush names in my family tree. Can anyone tell me if and / or how George Casper Roush of Pennsylvania ties into or does not tie into the Virginia Roush’s. My great grandmother was a Roush descended for George Casper who moved to Snyder County Pennsylvania and where the family lived for several generations. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have nothing conclusive beyond George Casper.
